Both Tecplot 360 and Focus 2020 R2 are supported on macOS Big Sur (11.0); however, the 2020 R1 releases for these products do not support Big Sur. Problem: Tecplot 360 is unable to be opened from within Tecplot Chorus. I receive a “Permission Denied” error. To fix this, delete libfreetype.so.6 from the Tecplot ../bin directory.
Problem: Installing a maintenance release of 360 on Windows which replaces an existing 360 installation does not update 360 to the newer maintenance release version, even though the installer says the installation is successful. Solution: Close all running instances of Tecplot 360. A maintenance release overwrites the existing 360 installation. Solution: One possible cause could be due to a security issue in Xorg that disables the “indirect mode” in GLX. If that is the case then the solution is to enable the GLX indirect mode.
